Gather Coconuts: Begin by collecting fresh coconuts. Choose mature coconuts with hard shells, as they contain more meat and produce better-quality oil.
Crack the Coconuts: Use a heavy cleaver or a coconut opener to crack open the coconuts. Be cautious while doing this to avoid injury. Once cracked, separate the coconut meat from the shell.
Remove Coconut Meat: Carefully remove the white coconut meat from the shell using a knife or coconut scraper. Try to keep the meat as intact as possible.
Wash the Coconut Meat: Rinse the coconut meat with clean water to remove any impurities or debris.
Grate or Shred the Coconut: Grate or shred the cleaned coconut meat into small pieces. You can use a coconut grater or a food processor with a shredding attachment for this step.
